Launching the Acceleris investor platform has resulted in us reflecting on how our current mandates directly address the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests

Investing in innovative and sustainable companies is a key consideration when taking on new clients as we work to improve the quality of life, the world and the economy. Below is a review of our current mandates and how they are working towards UN Sustainability.

Power Roll

7 Affordable and Clean Energy

11 Sustainable Cities and Communities

13 Climate Action

Power Roll is a highly disruptive company with potential for significant global impact. The company has developed an ultra-low cost method to produce energy storage solutions, game changing solar pv and are addressing three of the UN goals. Demand for electricity continues to grow, balanced against the need to reduce emissions and achieve carbon zero targets. To ensure global viability of clean energy, a significantly low-cost scalable technology is required. Power Roll is directly addressing this global need with its low cost, lightweight and flexible pv product. It has the potential to revolutionise the way the industry utilises solar energy for energy generation, with the technology being low-cost, scalable and flexible to the point it can be applied to any surface anywhere. Applications and markets that it will open up include non-load bearing rooftops and off-grid remote communities due to the light weight, low-cost and market leading payback period.

BiVictriX Therapeutics

3 Good Health and WellBeing

BiVictriX are developing novel targeted therapeutics, with the lead candidate in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). The technology is designed and optimised to target the cancer cells and not the healthy cells, resulting in significantly reduced toxicity of cancer treatment. BiVictriX utilises the innovative  Bi-Cyngi technology which could revolutionise cancer treatment across a range of candidates beyond AML.

Reacta Biotech

3 Good Health and WellBeing

Reacta are working to be the gold standard oral food challenge for allergy diagnosis, led by the world-leading authorities on allergy treatment. The company’s current focus is on peanut allergies, but has the ability to scale up and address other allergies such as milk and egg. To be the first, accurate, regulated diagnostic will be revolutionary for allergy treatment, removing the current threat of devastating false negative results and the additional costs for false positive results. It means that therapeutics to treat allergies can be scientifically and comprehensively studied and it can improve the quality of health for growing population of allergy sufferers.

Pyreos

9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Pyreos develop and manufacture the world’s first surface mount detection pyroelectric sensor range for gas, flame and food analysis. They are working to improve sensors across a whole host of industries, including but not limited to application in wearable tech, IoT, battery powered systems, gesture and motion detection and low-cost sensors with high performance and unparalleled low power consumption. This technology has mass potential which will enable a large range of other UN goals beyond goal 9. With applications into battery powered systems, this could be fed in to electric cars and associated infrastructure thereby feeding into Goal 7 for affordable and clean energy.

Impact Data Metrics

9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

8 Decent Work and Economic Growth
